School Holiday Project

 

Many parents benefit from meeting up on a regular basis.  In Loughton we work alongside parents to run the Meeting Point group.  We have regular informal meetings inviting guest speakers to join us.

Additionally we link families to PACT for Autism; they hold meetings in Harlow and Bishops Stortford.

Accuro operates a Holiday Support Project during each school holiday and in particular during the long summer holiday. This service caters for children with a disability aged from 8 to 19 and provides opportunities to participate in a very wide range of leisure and social activities in both groups and on an individual basis.

The project provides children and young people with great opportunities to experience a range of activities and outings, whilst affording their families some valuable respite care.

 

We provide both:

Group activities – these may be activity days based on a theme for example music days, drama, sport or small group outings. Recent outings have included a canal boat trip, cinema trips, swimming and museums.

Individual activities – where a child/young person is supported by a Support Worker on a 1:1 basis to participate in activities of their choosing for instance going to the cinema, visiting Stansted Airport or going bowling.
