Alzheimer's Society provides a range of support services for people with dementia, their families and their carers in your area. 

 

Our Services 

 

Dementia Connections - A countywide service being delivered by the Alzheimer's Society and Age UK Essex. If you have been diagnosed with dementia, we can work with you, to help you redisocver your confidence and try new hobbies and activities. We can offer you up to 12 hours of free support, helping you take part in an activity of your choice, either on a one to one basis or within a small group. Overall, our aim is to help you live a full and active life.

 

Dementia Support Workers - our dementia support workers giver personalised practical and emotional support to people with dementia and their carers. We can do this through home visits as well as telephone support. 

 

 

Activity Groups for people with Dementia in Harlow

 

Keeping Active...........Together offers people with dementia the oportunity to take part in a wide range of gentle physical activities, including seated exercises, indoor bowling, darts, music and dance, team games and lots more. Every Friday from 1am - 12:30 pm

 

Active Minds offers people with dementia the opportunity to engage the mind and memory in activities such as number games, music, reminiscence, fares and places, world games, travel and lots more. 

Every Wednesday from 10 am-12:30pm

Dementia Cafe - come along to meet others in a similar situation, in a relaxed social setting. You can spend time sharing information and experiences, or simply have a cup of tea and a chat. Friendly Alzheimer's Society staff, and volunteers will be on hand to give you advice and support and there will be a range of refreshments available.

 

Every monday 10am-12 noon, excluding bank holidays.
